A major player in the heavy manufacturing sector needs a Purchasing Officer to start as soon as possible as their team and work load is expanding. Your new role
The Purchasing Officer will be responsible for:
All transactional purchasing for both direct and indirect categories
Action all purchasing requests in a timely manner, maintaining a high DIFOT level
Obtain multiple quotes and negotiate with suppliers to achieve best value outcomes
Manage requests and credit requests and resolve invoicing issues
Provide a high level of customer service, liaising with suppliers and internal customers
General administration as required
What you'll need to succeed
You will have experience working in similar fast paced, heavy industrial manufacturing environment. Key skills required:
Strong purchasing, inventory and DIFOT experience
Ability to work well under pressured and to deadlines
High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
Excellent customer service
Strong understanding of SAP
What you'll get in return
As the successful candidate you will be offered position on a contract basis with the view to move to permanent quickly if your performance warrants it. Exceptional candidates may be offered a permanent position right away. Salary will be in line with your experience.
