Your new company
A local council based in the Geelong region is seeking a Procurement Officer to join their team. With a friendly team and beautiful parks and gardens on your door step this is an exciting opportunity.

Your new role
As the Procurement Officer you will be joining an expanding team and be responsible for managing tenders and contract management activities end to end, including:

  • Developing the scope and producing the documentation
  • Release to market and liaise with the suppliers
  • Conduct the evaluation panels and negotiate and award the contract

What you'll need to succeed
As the Procurement Officer you will be joining an expanding team and be responsible for managing tenders and contract management activities end to end, including:

  • Understanding of approaches to market, tendering and quotations for the supply of goods and services in a local government or State Government context
  • Well-developed customer service, interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain and develop co-operative professional working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Good problem solving skills including capability to research and analyse data and to present findings in a manner that can be easily understood by those from a non-procurement background.
  • Understanding of quotation and tender preparation through to contract award including preparation of Council reports.
  • Sound organisational, time management and prioritisation skills along with a demonstrated ability to successfully balance competing priorities.
