Full time opportunity Great team environment Be part of an established brand with real career progression opportunities The Role We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a full time Procurement Category Manager to join our team based in Melbourne CBD The Procurement Category Manager will be responsible for providing Programmed with a robust Category Strategy that is aligned with the overall business objectives and maximises profits through strategic procurement. Key accountabilities of this essential role, will include, however not limited to, the following: Reviewing the existing spends within the allocated Categories on supplier and subcontract services and recommends strategies to optimize expenditure, rationalise the supplier base, minimise risk and reduce costs Implementing robust commercial arrangements for key suppliers and subcontract services to support these category strategies Managing all aspects of all commercial and performance of key service providers and conduct supplier reviews. Undertaking regular audits of key providers and regular health checks on the relationship between Programmed and these companies. Ensuring all key service providers maintain adequate levels of Health, Safety and Environmental systems to meet the compliance requirements of the service provision. Ensuring procurement processes and systems are followed to ensure that they do not expose the company to unmanageable commercial risk Providing strategic category advice to the operations teams on ways in which they can improve their margins through optimised supply chain management The ideal candidate will have proven experience in procurement and excellent written and oral communication skills. We're looking for a self-starter who enjoys working within a team environment, and possesses strong attention to detail coupled with strong analytical skills. The ideal candidate will have: Extensive category management experience within a large multi-sector organisation A demonstrated ability to achieve stakeholder focussed solutions Considerable experience and demonstrated capability in managing and leading an outcome An ability to investigate processes and recommend initiatives to improve efficiencies Exceptional oral skills to communicate with internal and external stakeholders Proven ability to work within a team Sound experience within a large procurement or purchasing function Understanding of and Experience in the Facilities and Property Management industry Qualification in Business Management or related discipline is desirable Excellent knowledge of MS applications, particularly Excel & Access If you have key experience in category management, and proven experience in achieving and exceeding supply chain optimisation targets – we're looking for you!
