Our client is a well-established multi-national organisation who are well on their way to becoming a leader within the high-tech electronics manufacturing field. Currently enjoying a period of continued growth, they are seeking to appoint an experienced Engineering Projects & Operations Manager to their senior management team. This company is world recognised, with offices located in Australia, United Kingdom and USA. A newly created hybrid position, this role will see you project managing the introduction of new products into manufacturing, including managing the design, implementation and providing strategic support to all departments across production, logistics, procurement, projects and service. With 5 direct reports and 10+ indirects, you will be responsible for ensuring the continuous operation of the production department with respect to product manufacturing. Maintaining a macro view, you will proactively manage any potential risks and engage with key stakeholders and lead your team to deliver effective solutions. Key responsibilities include (but not limited to); Project management of new products including definition of scope, budget and timelines Creation of project plans which identify requirements, deliverables, work breakdown, resources and risks as well as ensuring continuing compliance Securing design resources and managing resources in an effective and cost efficient manner Monitoring and reporting on project progress - timelines, expenditures and risk mitigations Monitoring and approval of budgeted project expenditures Implement and manage change proposal within project plans Execution of the project plan including revisions due to resource conflicts, change proposals and changes to project scope Establish regular communication schedules (department based, project based) and ensuring meetings are minuted and actioned Manage design engineers and technical resources for design projects Ensures that production timelines are met in conjunction with the Production Manager Maintain an overview of the day to day running of the Production Department with a view to integrating continuous improvement initiatives To be considered for this role you will be a degree qualified engineering professional who has worked within a technical product development within the electronics manufacturing, avionics or aerospace / aviation sectors. It is critical that you bring a seamless blend of project and operational management and have sound multitasking skills, regularly managing multiple, sometimes conflicting priorities. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is keen to join a growing organisation within the high-tech manufacturing sector. Ideally you will have worked within a similar field encompassing high-end engineering development and manufacturing and have a proven working knowledge of project management techniques. While not essential, candidates that bring a tertiary qualification within project management or possess PMP or Prince II certification will be highly regarded.
