Description As the Production Manager your primary focus is on scheduling, planning and managing the workshop to ensure effective delivery on projects, in line with customer requirements. Your responsibilities will also include: Ensuring all production work is carried out to the approved drawings and specifications and that correct work practices are engaged at all time Ensuring efficient scheduling, planning and labour resource management. Reviewing the job schedule to optimise manning levels and timely completion of works Establish clear communication within the team by creating and maintaining a culture of openness, communication that is responsive, and honest, with and from all members of the team Lead weekly toolbox meetings with all employees. Address poor performance and inappropriate behaviour in a timely manner, taking action where required within guidelines of policies and procedures Prepare and present weekly progress reports Profile You will be a highly motivated and driven professional with previous experience as a Production Manager in a job shop environment. Additionally, you will possess: A trade background as a Boilermaker, Welder or Fitter Previous experience managing a busy workshop in a jobbing shop environment Experience with piping packages, spooling and carbon steel would be viewed upon favourably Experience leading a team of 40 – 60 employees with approximately six direct reports Strong communication skills and professional presentation. As a result in an increase in workload, they are looking for a talented Mechanical Engineer to join their team for an immediate start. This position is for an initial 3 month period with a view to permanency. Description As a Technical member of the Engineering Department, the duties would include: Designing products and equipment through input at design development meetings. Identification and recording of faulty items during fabrication and/or assembly. Offering technical assistance during the factory build and commissioning. Customer technical liaison. Preparing specifications and contributing to operation and maintenance manuals for equipment build. Supplier liaison and management; liaison with Purchasing Officer to ensure correct placement of all orders for materials, with particular attention to long lead items. Other internal process improvement tasks to improve design efficiency. Carrying out research and development work as required. Operating equipment as authorised. As a support to the service department your roles would include: Providing estimates and quotations to existing and potential customers for Service and/or machine installation requirements. Maintenance of the Service Schedule including planning for and organising the timely servicing of customers equipment and co-ordinating the resources to do such. Establishing project planning information to assist the Senior Engineer and Leading Hand in allocation of resources. Organising the supply of spare parts required for service and repair work in liaison with the Warehouse, Logistics and Factory Planning Officer and Purchasing Officer. Recording in the Sales & Service Database Service work carried out, and generating the Service report, and invoice for the customer. As the liaison with the sales department your duties would include: Assisting with replacement parts quoting by sourcing and/or developing cost information and cost estimations of machines, assemblies and components manufactured or marketed by the Company by sourcing cost information where required. Checking of drawings and BOM prior to issue to the workshop Profile Have a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field. A minimum of three year's design and development experience within a similar or related industry. Be highly developed CAD skills and experience with SolidWorks. Possess comprehensive verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Display excellent project management skills and the ability to take initiative, work independently and be a self-starter. Be able to demonstrate the highest standards of customer service. Be hands on and able to practically perform servicing and installations.
