THE ROLE: Collaborating with a team of Supply, Demand and Production Planning specialists, who interface with the wider client portfolio in each state, and provide on-the-ground logistics, supply chain, warehouse and distribution support and expertise, along with stakeholder engagement and coordination. This will include: Ownership of high level service provision of logistics and supply chain support, facilitating continual customer order process in line with service agreements Accountability for break-fix assurance, fulfilment, reverse logistics and returns Monitor stock movements closely and be able to respond to any queries regarding movement of inventory Manage and develop key customer relationships with the operational business Process of sales orders for customers with assurance of high level of accuracy within Sales Order Management system THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE: The successful candidate will have a strong background within supply chain and managing suppliers. You will have: Previous experience within a supply chain, logistics, demand or customer planning role Previous experience using SAP R/3 (must) or APO system Strong track record in taking ownership of key client portfolios and account development through building on existing customer relationships Demonstrated forecasting, analytical and implementation of supply chain process improvements Passion and enthusiasm for demand planning and customer replenishment! Our client is an ASX listed business based in the CBD whom is seeking an experienced Category Officer to join their team on a 7 month contract position with a view to extension. The Role This role plays a pivotal role working with stakeholders to provide procurement advice which will assist to plan develop, source and manage procurement arrangements to effectively meet organisational and business objectives. Responsibilities: * Validate stakeholder business needs, compile and source market information and assess risk to inform procurement planning and category management. * Manage the end to end sourcing process (including contract drafting) applying knowledge in the relevant categories to meet business needs. * Implement and contribute to the development of contract management plans, resolution of contract issues, monitor performance and negotiate contract variations by developing effective supplier relationships. * Participate in negotiations to establish and review supply arrangements that will deliver value for money category outcomes. * Identify, mitigate and escalate procurement risks to enable the organisation to meet its obligations and maximise business opportunities. * Support the implementation of category plans and supplier relationship management plans as required by the business. * Maintain and update procurement records and generate reports on procurement and contract activity to meet organisational compliance requirements and provide access to procurement information. * Oversee the effectiveness of the claims process for relevant maintenance contract payments and step in when needed to resolve problems. * Provide ongoing contract management support to on site contract owners. The Ideal Candidate * Will have a legal, supply chain, or procurement related background * 5 years + experience in a contract admin/Category specialist role * Ideally you will have exposure to the mining industry with sound contracts and procurement experience * SAP experience preferred * Ability to work effectively in a fast paced team environment * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Hold a relevant tertiary, industry or legal qualification. * Analytical and critical thinking skills; commercial awareness * Advanced Excel and reporting skills The Opportunity * ASX Listed Global Leader in the mining resources sector * CBD Location * Competitive salary * 7 month contract role with a strong view to extension You must have the right to live and work in Australia to apply for this role.
