Category Manager We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Category Manager to join our Buying & Merchandise team. What we are looking for: Working in a fast paced environment, the role is responsible for delivering a range that is simpler for our stores to execute and enhances our customers’ perceptions of value, quality and range whilst delivering to target on sales growth, profitability and market share. The Category Manager is responsible for managing all aspects relating to Product, Price and Promotions within the category. In addition, a key aspect of this role is leading a cross functional team through strategic transformation. What you’ll do: Manage the day to day operation of the category Develop and implement the category strategy with respect to Pricing, GP, Range and New Product Development. Be accountable for the fiscal performance of the category down to DGL (department gains/loss) level including forecasting, budgeting and managing overall category performance to KPIs and expectations. Collaborate with our store operations team to help drive in store execution of our plan. Who you are? You’re driven by a customer mission and passionate about leading and working with a team of great people. You have previous experience in Category Management and the ability to develop and execute category plans. You’re able to communicate your plans clearly with internal and external stakeholders, garnering their support whilst taking on board their feedback. You’re open minded and flexible to change but remain focused on the end goal. You’re curious and empathetic, with an eye for the bigger picture. You deal with complexity by collaborating with colleagues, listening to customers and suppliers, testing ideas and continuously learning. You take ownership for what you create. Primary Freight contributes more than 50% of the volume into Woolworths DCs it is an important position, to be successful you will: Have exposure to the transport & logistics industry ideally Come with strong stakeholder management skills Be experienced in working in a target driven environment Have a proven ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment Have excellent systems and computer skills Demonstrate a high level of customer service As part of creating a safe working environment, our Distribution Centres operates under a Drug & Alcohol Policy for all those on site.
