Our Buying team is responsible for setting our trading strategy by ensuring that our range remains relevant to our customers, maximising shelf availability and guaranteeing sustainable practices. We have a fantastic opportunity for an Allocator to join our Food team and ensure our stock is in the right store, at the right time. An avid Foodie, this role reports into and provides key support to the Merchandise Planner, in conjunction to working in partnership with our Stores and Suppliers. In these roles you will: Monitor product performance Monitor stock on hand, wastage and markdowns to recommend action to Demand Planner/Planner/Buyer Quantify and create orders Liaise with suppliers on order and delivery performance Liaise closely with buying to drive optimal delivery & intake decisions Work with Merchandise Planner to ensure that capacity/space planning/Shelf life is factored into all key decisions Liaise and communicate with stores to ensure they are aware of ordering decisions that impact their store Weekly, Seasonal and Ad-Hoc analysis and insights We are looking for that little bit extra, so join us if you: Have previous experience working as an Allocator, or similar position, preferably in Food Ordering experience would be well regarded Have Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint Have strong administration skills and excellent attention to detail Experience using RMS or TM1 would be well regarded Have personal resilience and a strong work ethic Have a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work within a fast paced environment whilst balancing competing interests and priorities Possess strong analytical skills and commercial nous Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to influence stakeholders internally and externally At David Jones we go the extra mile. Reporting into the Replenishment Manager, this role has ownership for the replenishment of a specific Basic Stock range to ensure the instock target is met, in conjunction to working in partnership with our Stores and Suppliers. Please note, this position is referred to internally as a Merchandise Replenishment Coordinator. In this role you will: Place replenishment orders in line with the documented order schedule Reviewing daily orders and manage exceptions as per the guideline Maintain agreed In-Stock level Manage promotional ordering Manage Basic Stock range additions/deletions in line with policy Monitor basic OTB expenditure and communicate risks to Manager Assist Manager with Supplier Performance Management Action Store raised stock queries Document proposed action on all basic stock issues within 1 working day of issues being raised Manage intake to an agreed budget(OTB) and ensure Basic Stock In-stock target is achieved We are looking for that little bit extra, so join us if you: Have working knowledge of Replenishment, Forecasting and Planning, ideally in a retail environment Have experience analyzing and interpreting reports, and have used this information to realize commercial opportunities and changes Previous experience with Replenishment Systems, preferably with Retek Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to influence stakeholders across the organisation Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail Have personal resilience and a strong work ethic Possess Intermediate to Advanced Excel and MS Access skills At David Jones we go the extra mile.
