The merchandise team sits within all Business Units (Grocery, Non-Food, Fresh Produce, Bakery and Meat/Deli/Seafood/Meals) across Coles Supermarkets. This is a diverse team, from category management and supply chain, to product development and marketing. As a Category Manager for Brought in Bread you will be managing packaged bread, packaged rolls, flat breads and snacks within the bakery. Your key responsibilities will be to:
drive sales and profit performance ahead of budget and in line with your forecasts
grow market share in line with strategic goals
execute the customer-centric category strategy with support from the cross-functional team
embed customer-centric innovation into the day-to-day operations
account for the execution of the category’s pricing, promotion, range selection, layout development and product development
build sustainable, long-term supplier relationships
To be successful, you’ll have :
demonstrated category management experience within a leading retailer
a thorough understanding of managing complex categories, high SKU counts and sales turnover
experience in managing a number of suppliers, both large and independents
strong trading experience
outstanding influencing, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
creative style with the ability to operate in a dynamic, customer-driven retail environment
an innovative and creative mindset to deliver newness into ranges
proven ability to champion and drive change
strong financial acumen within a highly commercial environment
