Job no: 13695 As Supply Commercial Manager for Komatsu, you will lead the Local Vendor Management process, through vendor assessment, delivery and quality performance. To be successful in this role, you will have the ability to build and maintain exceptional internal and external relationships, lead contractual negotiations and vendor performance management discussions/initiatives to achieve successful customer satisfaction and order fulfillment. Reporting to the Director, Supply, key responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Contractual coordination of major project, capital works and ongoing arrangements with external suppliers and service providers Minimising the risk/exposure to KMC from a safety, legal and financial perspective Establish and manage commercial contracts to ensure the quality, delivery and cost expectations are met Work with planners, buyers, quality representatives and operations to ensure all external commercial engagements are well specified, documented and managed Management of subcontracts (equipment and services) associated with major projects such as Longwall OE and rebuilds Assess and manage risks associated with new vendor requests and advanced payment requests Maintain the Vendor Risk Assessment Register in consultation with other supply and quality representatives Ensure all documentation associated with the role is stored securely and accessible to others as required Source, assess and manage new product sourcing arrangements both in Australia and overseas Work with planners, buyers, quality representatives and operations to ensure all external commercial engagements are well established and managed Facilitate a balanced and practical approach to lead the contract negotiations, assessing risk and strategy with legal advice, adapting to variable economic and environmental situations Support the forecasting (initiation) inputs to assure accurate information Key skills and attributes required for this role: Prior work experience in heavy industry, seven years minimum Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical data and be able communicate this effectively to both suppliers and internal customers. Exposure and a demonstrated understanding of the principals associated with supplier performance, development and associated commercial contracts. A sound understanding of SAP functions such as MRP, date management, standard costing, cost center allocation and payment protocols. Well-developed interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with people at all levels both internally and externally Must be able to work independently and effective organize and run meetings Capable of analysing business risk in the transaction (financial, business and legal) and consequences of non-compliance This is an opportunity to broaden your experience and work with one of Australia’s leading original Equipment Manufacturers.
