Our Financial Service Group is creating a capability uplift both within our Procurement team and across the wider organisation which will seek to increase our ability to deliver standardised and simplified process, leverage knowledge and expertise within the organisation, provide deep insights to enable the business to make more informed decisions while providing expertise in specific business areas that create business value.
About the role
As a Procurement Category Specialist, you will partner with the business, to contribute to the development of category strategies, and to manage sourcing, Supplier Relationship Management and contract management activities for the relevant category or business area, according to the overall Category Strategy as well as specific operational requirement.
Reporting into the Portfolio Category Manager, you will manage sub-category and business unit specific planning, sourcing and contract lifecycle activities that are aligned to Category Strategy and the requirements of the business.
Within this procurement position, you will:
Assist with the development, implementation and management of enterprise wide category and contract strategies for defined portfolio of sub categories
Draft and review key market documents before distribution to stakeholders such as evaluation plan, returnable schedules, technical specifications and scopes of service
Provide support to pricing reviews and contract re-negotiation, attending or leading scheduled performance reviews, resolving supplier performance matter and incidents
Ensure sourcing activities and related data are captured and managed in the required systems, for the purposes of tracking benefits and status of projects
Analyse all internal and external procurement information to effectively develop supply base strategies for major procurement projects.
As a successful applicant, you will have:
Relevant degree qualification (e.g. Finance, Business, Supply Chain) or experience deemed equivalent
Professional procurement qualification (e.g. MCIPS)
Experience working in category management and/or procurement operations
Experience in partnering with the business to lead sourcing projects, commercial negotiations and manage contracts across the lifecycle
Extensive knowledge in understanding strategic sourcing, contract developments, supplier management and procurement metrics reporting.
