We are seeking an experienced Inventory Controller to join our Menswear Team based in our Store Support Office in Williams Landing in West Melbourne. As the Inventory Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring that the business has the right amount of stock in the right place at the right time, for both stores and DC’s. Other key responsibilities may include: Work closely with the Stores, Buyers and Merchandise Planners to ensure that each store has the correct inventory level to support their sales and merchandising needs Make quantification recommendations to the Merchandise Planner based on previous like buys and sell through Provide accurate and timely feedback to the Buyer and Planner on store level inventory and productivity to influence decision making Sell through tracking from day 1, including recommendations for markdown, or other trading activity to support achieving the stock to sales target Build strong relationships with the Stores, Merchandising, and Space teams, and be an active participant in cross-functional meetings Analyse data to identify risks and opportunities by department, major class and style and communicate appropriately Ensure appropriate level of stock of advertised lines from the commencement and duration of promotions Amend allocations based on store impacts and refits to minimize overstocks and markdowns Lead the Target vision, strategy and values within the team and across the organisation What do we need? The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, have high attention to detail and a strong understanding of our Target customer. You will have the ability to take ownership of tasks, build strong working relationships and provide sound reasoning and decision quality. You will be able to pick up systems quickly, and have basic/intermediate skills in the Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). An undergraduate degree in Business, Merchandise or Fashion along with experience working in the retail environment would be advantageous.
