Director, Field Operations (Procurement) – Australasia The Hilton portfolio of hotels is comprised of 17 industry leading and world-class brands, spanning more than 100 countries. In Asia Pacific, the company has 300 trading hotels and nearly 500 under development. The Regional Director, Procurement - Australasia will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing and controlling the purchasing and supply management functions for all operational products and services, for all Hilton managed hotels located within Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and any other countries or territories in the region which may come on line. He/she will also ensure the established level of quality products and services are purchased at the lowest total cost while adhering to Hilton standards, operating procedures and operational needs / specifications, purchasing best practice, and working with the Supply Management team to achieve these aims. What will I be doing? As a Regional Director, Procurement - Australasia, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards: Provide functional and operational management to any cluster purchasing teams and or purchasing managers based in the region and provide support as required to hotel-based purchasing resources across the region. Work with Centre of Excellence (COE) to ensure all procurement tools (such as Birch Street, MBT Check, ARIBA, Bravo Solutions and others) are implemented and maintained where possible to their full productivity. Ensure Sustainable Sourcing strategies are in place and executed according to the Hilton Travel with Purpose mandate. Execute spend analysis to drive strategic sourcing requirements, propose annual procurement plans for the region and work with key stakeholders to align objectives and gain buy in. Develop new programs and/or renegotiate existing programs and distribution channels with suppliers and/or manufacturers, utilizing cross-functional teams whenever applicable. Manage and implement local, regional and centrally led international procurement programs and ensure that these programs have a sound legal, financial and logistical set-up. Effectively manage projects in a structured and organized fashion. Drive and/or participate in cross functional procurement initiatives which can add value to key stakeholders in operations or finance. Perform field visits and combine operational reviews of the purchasing function at regional and hotel-levels where necessary and implement new processes where appropriate. Measure and improve compliance to supply management programs and increase HSM spend influence, undertaking ad-hoc procurement requirements and special projects as agreed from time to time with VP, Supply Management - APAC and VP, Operations - Australasia. Work with HSM colleagues on Asia Pacific initiatives. Manage and maintain all confidential supplier contracts and approve all changes to existing contracted items, new and/or deleted items, inclusive of pricing verification and amendments. Maintain confidential supplier files and general supplier due diligence, including legal documentation / contracts as required. Assist corporate departments in identifying hotels that are not following established purchasing and supply programs and/or specifications. Maintain the ARIBA Global Savings Scorecard accurately on a timely basis and regularly update internal stakeholders on achievements and progress as well as attend regional meetings as required. Lead and motivate the teams to high levels of performance, developing the team’s functional and soft skills. What are we looking for? To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviors, skills, and values that follow: University degree or significant work experience in lieu thereof. At least 10 years of experience in procurement or supply chain with at least 5 years of management experience. Ability to direct collaborative efforts and marshal resources throughout the Hilton organization, including internal resources, external resources and other constituent groups as appropriate with aim of furthering company goals. Ability to analyse financial data including spend data and supplier P&Ls in order to draw quick conclusions and assist in prioritizing decisions and activities. Ability to manage change, resolve conflicts and ensure collaboration within teams and/or units to the highest standards of ethical conduct and integrity. Ability to take initiative to identify, prioritize and implement all elements required for team to fulfill responsibilities in keeping with core strategic goals. Strong problem solving, budget development and management skills, including the ability to track expenses against commitments, set priorities for funding, and develop annual budgets. Ability to advocate and implement professional development for self, direct reports and others as well as to work with peers and other resources to provide development and mentoring opportunities, adhering to organization’s standards for performance feedback. Ability to evaluate and identify opportunities from a strategic perspective, including ability to develop, prioritize and implement plans to meet organization’s core strategic goals. Ability to assimilate new concepts and practices into position and the department and provide effective training to subordinates for on-the-job training, policies and procedures, departmental training topics and professional development. Budget development and management skills, including the ability to track expenses against commitments, set priorities for funding, and develop annual budgets. Excellent communication and presentation skills. In-depth knowledge of the procurement process, and experience of categories such as food & beverage, operating supplies, capital goods and contracted services. Able to travel as required within the region or internationally (up to 40%). Hospitality or adjacent industry experience preferred, with a mix of experience from sourcing, project and operations roles. Australasia and/or APAC sourcing and procurement experience is advantageous. What will it be like to work for Hilton?
