Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Process Improvement Manager will take delivery accountability for larger improvement initiatives within the operational areas, the role will also provide support and coaching in continuous improvement methods and techniques to operational teams and green belts implementing smaller, local initiatives.
The Process Improvement Manager will work closely with the Warehouse Manager to plan and structure timetables to review operational processes and implement realistic and achievable KPI’s.
The Process Improvement Manager will work with the PDC Supervisors/Leading Hands to review, scope out and implement lean operational processes to both improve process flow and reduce costs, whilst ensuring engagement of team members is in line with Built By Us and SPARC commitments.
Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Relevant business or tertiary qualification
DMAIC Six Sigma Black Belt
LEAN Black Belt
Understanding of Signavio and BPMN 2.0 modelling or industry equivalents – Experience in use of the tools to map process flows
Project Management Experience – AIPM (Australian Institute of Project Management) qualifications
ASCI/ APICS qualifications highly regarded – Australian Supply Chain Certifications

Lead a team of supervisors, leading hands and store persons to achieve set goals and objectives
Deliver operational improvement initiatives, assisting process owners to achieve measurable improvements in process performance as well as developing effective visual control systems within PDC work areas to be maintained by supervisors/lead hands to reflect daily/monthly KPI’s i.e. visuals such as footprints, shadow boards, CI boards
Facilitate improvement workshops and meetings, utilising relevant techniques to assist PDC supervisors to resolve urgent improvement issues or longer-term process implementation
Develop end to end customer journey maps involving all required stakeholders and departments
Identify business improvement opportunities through ongoing measurement of performance, actively using CPS and CI to drive ongoing improvement initiatives.
Ensuring alignment of LEAN methodology back to existing WesTrac business improvement tools and templates
Educate, coach, and mentor Green Belts and others on Lean Six Sigma philosophy and application
The ability to work effectively under pressure and to make sound business decisions and delegation to meet demanding deadlines
Ability to work unsupervised and to make decisions based on overall objectives of improving processes within the PDC
