As part of Toll Group’s new growth strategy an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Transport Manager to join our Express Parcels division. As the Transport Manager you will be responsible for the leadership and overall management of the entire pickup and delivery fleet within the coverage of the relevant metropolitan depot and the effective coordination and cooperation between transport and depot operations. You will also have overall responsibility of the Ticket office, Radio Room, and the coordination of customer pick-ups. Additionally, you will be responsible for the safe and compliant operation of the fleet and ensure a sound management of service, cost and productivity. Your responsibilities will also include: Support operations by making key decisions for successful transport and radio room functions, ensuring high levels of pick-up and delivery service. This includes input into delivery run design and allocation of resources to specific zones Optimise fleet utilization and maintenance requirements Effective resource planning in line with volume expectations, leave requirements and planned and unplanned absenteeism Identifying business improvements to drive efficiencies, productivity, cost reduction, margin and revenue growth Performing daily analysis of DIFOT, performance and productivity reporting The ideal candidate? The successful candidate will have extensive experience leading teams in a high-volume transport environment, specialist skills in transport planning, complex routing and logistics scheduling. You will be required to successfully manage staff daily but also to look forward and implement sustained structure and process initiatives to continually improve the operation and the operational metrics.
