Wood requires a Vendor Inspection Coordinator on the Kemerton Lithium Project, to coordinate inspection activities of the equipment and material fabrication in vendors / suppliers workshops. Join our collaborative team, working side by side with a global specialist chemicals company on a new and innovative project in the growing Lithium resources market to design, engineer and construct a world class processing facility. We have a diverse range of opportunities within our Perth office and further positions in the South West. The greenfield project targeted to go into production in 2020 will produce Lithium Hydroxide Monohydrate from a 2 train processing plant with a forecasted 60,000 per annum (Tpa) output. Further expansion plans into 2025 will see a total production of 100,000 tonnes per annum. The plant is to be constructed at the Kemerton Strategic Industrial Area approximately 160 km south of Perth, Western Australia and 17 km north-east of the thriving regional centre of Bunbury. Position Specifics and Deliverables The VIC’s roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Liaising with Contractors, Vendors and Second Party Inspection Agencies and, when necessary, assisting in the marking up of inspection points on Inspection & Test Plans (ITP) based on the Criticality Assessment for Procured Equipment and Materials. Coordination of inspectors and issuance of marked up ITP’s and inspection assignments using call out contracts established with Third Party Inspection Agencies, Area Engineers and Company Procurement Team. When requested, coordinate the attendance of Wood’s Engineering and /or Commissioning Team members at Vendors pre-FAT and FAT inspections. Receipt, review and distribution of inspection reports e.g. Inspection Release Certificates, NCR’s, Inspection Reports ensuring these are traceable for applicable Packages including the follow up of vendor data as required. Ensuring that, where applicable, punch lists are accurate and endorsed by all parties. The VIC forwards punch lists to the responsible personnel and includes their status in his reports. Monitoring, and reporting on the performance of inspectors and inspection agencies and providing feedback to the Project Quality Manager. Identify and assign suitable Inspectors to conduct inspections at the Package Contractor and Vendor works locations in a timely manner. The VIC reports to the Project Quality Manager and has a link to the Supply Chain Manager and Fabrication Manager. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree of Engineering from a recognised institution Eligibility for membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia. ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor Certificate Skills & Experience Minimum of 4 years general engineering industry experience. Good organisational and time management skills. Ability to problem-solve effectively. Technical engineering knowledge. Interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively manage and work in a team. Attention to detail. Strong analytical, literacy and numerical skills. Well-developed computer skills and knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and engineering programs. Effective leadership skills. Understanding of Australian and common International standards and regulatory authority requirements in the mining and minerals processing sector. Ability to identify risks and work safely.
