THE COMPANY Australian Eggs is the peak services body providing marketing and research & development (R&D) services to the Australian egg industry. Working together with the egg industry and the Australian Government, Australian Eggs strives to deliver value to industry and the public by investing in programs that ensure industry sustainability.
THE ROLE The Food Safety, Biosecurity and Production Manager will work as part of the Innovation Program team that develop and manage research and innovation projects across the value chain. They deliver outcomes and technology to industry and the wider stakeholder network that promote improved food safety, biosecurity, productivity, sustainability and animal welfare outcomes.
The role plays a key function in engaging with Egg producers to proactively identify, address and improve issues relating to food safety and biosecurity though enhanced production methods and improved processes and controls. It plays a hands-on role in the delivery of extension activities through consultation, workshops, events and content development to stakeholders and facilitating collaboration between farmers, researchers, veterinarians and regulators through strong relationship development and engagement.
Furthermore, they will have ongoing input in ensuring the effective implementation of the organisations Strategic Plan through coordinating programs that assist with the identification of issues and areas of opportunity.
THE REQUIREMENTS The successful applicant will need to meet the following requirements: • Tertiary qualifications in Veterinary Science or another related field; • Strong working knowledge of food safety biosecurity frameworks; • Understanding of poultry production and flock health is very highly regarded; • Project management skills including the ability to proactively plan and manage timelines and competing demands; • Excellent interpersonal oral communication and presentation skills with the ability to coordinate and run events and workshops; • Experience in liaising, communicating and building relationships with stakeholders including egg farmers, researchers, service providers and government bodies; • Understanding of regulatory frameworks and experience engaging with related government organisations.
LOCATION AND REMUNERATION Full time, permanent role based in North Sydney. An attractive salary is on offer for the successful candidate.
