In this Mechanical Design Engineer role, you'll already have around 5 years' experience to draw on to help you with concept generation, analysis, detailed design, validation and manufacturing implementation. You will be able to communicate effectively at all levels, particularly with suppliers and manufacturing partners in China.
Part and assembly design, from concept to detail design to manufacturing introduction
Detailed mechanical design, using SolidWorks, for a wide range of production fabrication processes in order to optimise performance and cost
Thermal and mechanical simulation modelling using ANSYS then experimental testing of prototypes to verify
Create control and test plans for component, sub assembly and product level assessments
Coordinate with industrial design, Category Managers and the quality team to ensure that all requirements are met
Work with the internal engineering team, including Electrical Engineers and Firmware Engineering team to integrate electromechanical systems
Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and suppliers to transition concepts to production
Create, manage and release technical documents
Ensure the design of the product and its performance meets applicable compliance and regulatory standards
Skills and experience
Demonstrated successful experience in mechanical engineering within a product design and manufacturing environment
5 years mechanical engineering experience
Proficiency in CAD modelling, Solidworks experience highly valued but not required
Strong analysis skills, including structural and thermal, Ansys experience highly valued but not required
Experience bringing a product or assembly through its entire lifecycle from initial concept through to production manufacturing
Ability to design for a wide range of fabrication and manufacturing processes
Experience with product and process validation
Detail oriented personality with solid documentation and reporting skills
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing or related field
