Job Description

This role reports to the Corporate Logistics Director. On an average day, a Corporate Logistics Manager will do anything from coaching and training team members, liaising with Senior Management within the greater business, coordinating Regions and Carriers to minimize costs and develop key performance indicators to monitor logistics service providers.

You will be responsible for:

  • Preparation and implementation of logistics decisions which develop the sales and profitability of the business, taking into account market, quality and commercial considerations
  • Developing and maintaining positive working relationships within the logistics service providers
  • Coaching and developing a team to ensure employees reach their full potential
  • Project development and implementation
  • Ensure adherence to all legal requirements in the area of responsibility
  • Liaise with Regions and other business sectors to ensure timely and efficient information flow
  • Cost saving initiatives and implementation
  • Meeting On Sale Date targets and delivery of goods into Regions
  • Monitoring and recording ALDI Logistics service provider performance

Selection Criteria:

  • Bachelor or Masters’ Degree in any discipline would be highly regarded (preferably Logistics & Supply Chain Management)
  • Proven success in leadership roles
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated analytical ability
  • Strategic planning and implementation
  • Proficiency in problem solving and “thinking outside the box”
  • Previous experience and strong understanding of logistics/transport industry will be highly regarded
