Newly created job for an Assistant Production Manager in the South East for a leading cabinetry company. Your new company
This well-established business specialises in the manufacture of high-end, custom-built residential cabinetry for some of Melbourne’s leading kitchen and bathroom retailers, Interior Designers and boutique builders. They are proud of their expert staff, the incredible service they deliver, and their well-earned reputation for quality. All of this has led to phenomenal growth, in particular over the last four years, where they have more than doubled in size. The company treats its staff as its key asset, so has minimal staff-turnover, but now needs to strengthen its management team to allow further growth. To enable this expansion the company is planning to relocate locally to a nearby larger and more appropriate facility within the next eighteen months Your new role
This new role of Assistant Production Manager has been created to work closely with the Production Manager and the Scheduling and Quality Control functions to ensure everything is put in place to facilitate their growth, but without jeopardising the quality and reliability for which the company is renowned. As a key part of the management team you will be working closely with the Production Manager and his key staff to assist with:
All aspects of Quality Control
Checking technical detailers job files
Checking completed jobs off on the factory floor
Site defect inspections
All OHS procedures, including ensuring 100% compliance
General assistance across the entire production and scheduling activities
What you'll need to succeed Significant experience in cabinet-making, preferably bespoke, high-end and high-volume operations
Keen eye for detail as you will be assisting with the management of error-capture, rectification and eradication
Demonstrated experience in people management position, ideally teams of 15-20 people
Have completed a Production Management, or similar, course or would be prepared to undertake such a course to further your skill sets and increase your promotional value to the company.
Competent in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word, and have the ability to understand and maintain tracking systems and to utilise in-house costing software.
Experience with the use of Cabinet Vision would be advantageous, but not essential
What you'll get in return
For your expertise and hard work, you will be rewarded with a generous salary package plus bonus, as well as the following opportunities:
To work with a company that has more-than-doubled in size over the last four years, and to be absolutely instrumental to their further growth over the next few years.
If you are prepared to undertake further management training, the company would reimburse your fees upon successful examination passes, subject by subject.
Be a major part of the planning, development and relocation of the company to an exciting new location (surrounding suburbs).
To enjoy a well-structured, busy, but friendly work environment where people are really valued and looked-after
